Anne McReynolds works with organisations at the point where important ideas need to become real projects.
She supports leaders and boards to clarify direction, navigate complex public environments and build the partnerships and confidence needed to get new initiatives off the ground. Much of her work focuses on the early stages of major initiatives, when organisations need to build understanding, credibility and support around new ideas before they can move forward.
Anne brings senior leadership experience from across the public and non-profit sectors. She previously served as founding Chief Executive of The MAC in Belfast, where she led the development of the £18m cultural landmark from concept through design, construction and launch.
Through Sequoia, Anne works closely with leadership teams, funders, partners and communities to test ideas, develop business cases and shape projects that are grounded, realistic and capable of securing long-term backing. Her recent work includes supporting the development of UNTOLD: Stories of the Irish in the British Army, advising Armagh Observatory & Planetarium on long-term organisational direction, and working with Pam Arts Collective in Wales on the future of Braeval Street Studios, exploring governance, stakeholder engagement and sustainable organisational models.
Anne is known for her strategic clarity, steady leadership and ability to help organisations navigate complex systems while keeping sight of what matters most.

Áine McVerry

Áine helps organisations build the understanding and support needed to turn ideas into action.
She works with leaders to engage stakeholders, communicate clearly and bring people with them when new initiatives affect communities, audiences or partners. Much of her work focuses on creating the conditions for organisations to move forward with legitimacy, ensuring people understand what is happening, why it matters and how they can be part of it.
Before co-founding Sequoia, Áine served as Deputy Chief Executive of The MAC in Belfast, where she led marketing, audience development and strategic planning as the organisation established itself as one of Ireland’s leading arts venues. A Chartered Marketer, she specialises in stakeholder engagement, behavioural insight and communication strategies that help organisations connect with people in meaningful ways.
Through Sequoia, Áine supports organisations working in complex or sensitive contexts — designing engagement processes, shaping clear narratives and helping teams build support around important decisions. Her recent work includes projects with PRONI (Public Records Office of Northern Ireland), McConnell’s Distillery Visitor Experience, Armagh Observatory & Planetarium, the Lloyd George Museum, and Arts Council of Wales.

Paul McIlwaine
Associate Director - Finance and Governance Specialist
Paul is a finance and governance specialist with over 30 years’ experience spanning accountancy practice, AIM-listed businesses, not-for-profit organisations, and the public sector. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, he combines strategic insight with hands-on leadership to deliver change, build resilience, and drive performance.
As Group Finance Director of an AIM-listed investment business, Paul led a reverse takeover in China’s luxury automotive sector growing the company’s turnover to £24m in just three years. As well as working in Asia, he has delivered performance improvement training in Europe and Africa, for blue-chip clients including Barclays Africa, the Ministry of Defence, and Dresdner Bank.
Paul was Director of Finance and Corporate Services at The MAC, where he oversaw finance, governance, procurement, IT, sustainability and facilities. He brings that breadth of expertise to private, cultural, and public-sector clients, helping them strengthen governance, plan for growth, and embed sustainable business models.

Maeve is a results-driven marketing strategist with over 20 years’ experience spanning arts, tourism, media and the private sector. As Head of Marketing at The MAC, she led the venue’s communications from launch to national recognition delivering award-winning campaigns, tripling audience reach, and driving earned income growth across box office, venue hire and sponsorship.
As founder of Amber Marketing, Maeve now advises clients across the visitor economy from Titanic Belfast to Derry City Council on how to grow audiences, sharpen messaging, and maximise impact. Her approach blends creativity with commercial thinking and data-led decision-making.
At Sequoia, Maeve brings strategic marketing insight, deep sector knowledge, and digital expertise from content strategy and CRM to user journey design. Maeve helps clients engage the right audiences and drive results that last.

Gillian Mitchell

Gillian is a senior cultural leader with extensive experience delivering complex, high-impact programmes across the arts, heritage and public sectors in Wales and Northern Ireland. From leading on the transformation of National Youth Arts Wales as its inaugural CEO to an more inclusive, national delivery model, to spearheading the delivery of CELF — the new national contemporary art gallery for Wales — she brings deep expertise in change leadership, stakeholder engagement and strategic development.
